The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is one of the most relevant museums of contemporary art in the world. The extraordinary MoMA collection is considered the largest and best collection of modern art, containing almost 200,000 pieces of artwork, including works of architecture, design, drawing, sculpture, photography, and books, in addition to 22,000 films and 4 million film stills, from more than 13,000 artists. Even if you are not an art expert, you will recognize many of the famous works of Picasso, Pollock, Rothko, Dali, Kandinsky, Van Gogh, Monet, and others. The MoMA’s main collection is located in the heart of Manhattan, on 53rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The MoMA has its most experimental and thought-provoking art in its venue MoMA PS1, located in the Long Island City neighborhood in the borough of Queens.
